Warimpex Finanz- und Beteiligungs AG and Sberbank will invest in joint ESG and development projects in St. Petersburg, Russia
Warimpex Finanz- und Beteiligungs AG and Sberbank PJSC, the largest bank in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement. The parties agreed to consolidate their efforts in the field of sustainable development and ecology, including specialized green and ESG products and services. The meeting was held on the Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The agreement is signed by Franz Jurkowitsch, Chairman of the Management Board of Warimpex Finanz- und Beteiligungs Aktiengesellschaft, and Viktor Ventimilla Alonso, Chairman of the North-West Bank of Sberbank.
The Warimpex Group and Sberbank PJSC are showing high interest in joint projects related to ESG agenda. Since 2020, Sberbank has been financing the construction of the “Avior Tower-1” business center in the Pulkovo business cluster (a part of the AIRPORTCITY St. Petersburg MFC, a Warimpex subsidiary).
The business center is being built according to the “Green development” construction quality standards. This is one of the few projects in the Northwestern Federal District in Russia, that already at the design stage includes resource-saving technologies and environmentally friendly solutions, that reduce operating costs. Today, the companies are negotiating on cooperation in the construction of two more business centers (“Avior Tower-2” and “Avior Tower-3”) and a 3-star business hotel on this territory. The total investment will take about €56 mln.

Warimpex Group is planning to obtain an international LEED system certificate (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership for all building types and all building phases including new construction, interior fit outs, operations and maintenance, shell&core.
